Registered Nurse – Med-Surg Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an RN for a 13-week contract assignment in Med-Surg Telemetry, based in Des Moines, IA. Start date: September 3, 2026.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
• Every other weekend
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Willingness to float required

Scope of Practice

You'll work across multiple med-surg floors, including ortho, med-surg, neurology step down, oncology, surgical telemetry, and med-surg telemetry units. Float assignments may include the facility's WestLakes Campus location (9.5 miles from downtown). You should be comfortable with telemetry monitoring, post-operative care, and the acuity levels typical of these patient populations.

Required Credentials & Licenses

• Current RN license
• COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Tdap vaccines (Influenza optional)
• 2-Step PPD or IGRA
• Fit test
• Drug screening
• Criminal background check
• Physical/health statement
• Specialty-specific competency testing
• Standard onboarding requirements (I-9, confidentiality agreements, system access forms, etc.)

Contract Details

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours guaranteed per week
