ICU Travel Nurse — Utica, NY

Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This is a high-acuity ICU opportunity for experienced critical care nurses comfortable managing complex, multi-system patients across neurological, cardiovascular, and surgical/trauma populations.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM | 3x12s
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed

Unit Overview

The ICU encompasses Neuro/Med, Cardiothoracic, and Surgical/Trauma sections. Patient populations include strokes, sepsis, altered mental status, neuro intervention, respiratory failure, CHF, post-STEMI, cardiovascular surgery, cardiogenic shock, AAA repair, trauma, and major post-operative cases.

Floating is required to other units as needed, excluding Behavioral Health and the ED (unless holding).

Scrub Color: Navy

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all current)
• Active NY RN license (NURSYS verification required)

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (4–5 years preferred) across ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, or Neuro ICU settings
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with CRRT required
• Cardiac/heart experience highly preferred — candidates with this background will be prioritized
• Competency with specialty modalities including IABP, ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and targeted temperature management
