PCU Registered Nurse — Night Shift | Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract

Join a progressive care unit serving adult and geriatric patients requiring step-down-level monitoring and management. This night-shift position is well-suited for experienced travel nurses comfortable with high-acuity cardiac and surgical populations.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required, as needed
• First-time travelers welcome

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

The unit manages long-term pulmonary patients, post-ENT surgical patients, and a variety of surgical cases requiring step-down-level care. Core clinical responsibilities include:

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Blood product administration
• Central and peripheral line care
• Non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and isolation precautions
• Rapid Response and Code team participation

Floating within skillset (including ICU and/or med-surg) is required.

Scrub Color: Navy blue and white combination

Required Credentials

• Active New York Single State RN license (NY is not a compact state; license must be in hand at time of submission)
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (valid certifications required)
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience
• Prior travel experience required

• Contract length: 13 weeks | Start: September 29, 2026
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Requested time off must be submitted at the time of application (10-day maximum)
