LTAC Med/Surg Telemetry – Night Shift | Columbia, SC
13-Week Travel Contract | 4x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
This long-term acute care unit manages adult and geriatric patients requiring extended recovery and complex medical oversight. The clinical team is supported by physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.
Shift & Scheduling
- 4x12-hour night shifts; 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
- Monday–Friday primary schedule; weekends covered via a rotating on-call structure shared among 6–8 staff members
- On-call begins after 5:00 PM daily and covers weekends
Clinical Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required; LTAC experience strongly preferred
- Neurological nursing experience required
- Proficiency in complex wound care, tracheostomy care and management, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Certifications Required
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Vaccines
- Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
Float Requirement
Travel staff may be asked to float to other units within the health system based on census needs. Floats are limited to areas where competencies have been documented.
Pre-Assignment
- Orientation occurs every Monday
- Compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 billable hours)
- Electronic medical records experience: minimum 1 year required
