Med Surg Tele

Med/Surg Telemetry — Travel RN | Greensburg, PA

This 17-week contract places you on a busy med/surg unit managing a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Both day (07:00–19:00) and night (19:00–07:00) shifts are available in a rotating 3x12-hour schedule, with straight nights an option for the right candidate.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

The unit focuses on medical non-monitored patients with an emphasis on post-operative care, including joint replacement, bariatric/weight loss surgery, and general surgery recovery. You'll apply a broad skill set that includes:

• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and non-invasive airway support
• Central line blood draws, PICC line management, and port access
• Pre/post hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis care
• Heparin and insulin administration, PCA management
• Wound care/wound vac, surgical drain management
• Bowel obstruction, renal failure, and dysrhythmia management
• Colostomy/ileostomy care and continuous bladder irrigation

Interdisciplinary support includes IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.

Schedule & Coverage

• Rotating shifts (days/nights), 3x12s
• 4 weekend shifts per contract; every other holiday required

Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS required (AHA only)
• Willingness to float within the facility and to sister facilities within 10 miles
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required
