Latrobe, PA | 17-Week Contract | Rotating 3x12-Hour Shifts
This fast-paced Emergency Department serves a diverse patient population spanning all age groups — neonates through geriatrics — with approximately 80 visits per day. The unit is stroke-certified and serves as a chest pain referral destination, and includes an adolescent psychiatric component. Strong clinical versatility and the ability to manage high-acuity presentations are essential.
Shift Schedule
- Day: 07:00–19:30 | Night: 19:00–07:30
- Rotating shifts; weekend coverage required; availability every other holiday expected
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS (AHA-issued only; must be current at submission)
Licensure
- Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license required at submission
Clinical Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of ED experience
- Proficiency in , dysrhythmia interpretation and management, procedural sedation, chest tube management, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, and BiPAP/CPAP management
- Experience with ventilated patients, blood product administration, stroke (CVA) care, and behavioral/psychiatric patient management
- Comfort with all-ages presentations including pediatric and geriatric populations
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Charting system experience required; electronic charting proficiency expected
- Willingness to float within the facility and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
- Two supervisor references preferred
- Former permanent employees of this facility are not eligible to apply as travelers
- Pre-start modules must be completed prior to first day on unit
