Occupational Therapist – Acute Care

Position Overview

The facility seeks an Occupational Therapist to join its acute care team, evaluating and treating adult and geriatric patients across a range of diagnoses and acuity levels.

Schedule & Duration

• Shift: Day, 5×8 hours (7:00 AM–3:00 PM)
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule Options: Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday; flexibility with block scheduling available per manager discretion

Clinical Scope

You'll conduct functional assessments and treatment focused on activities of daily living (ADL) and upper extremity function. Patient populations include those recovering from general and orthopedic surgery, hip fractures, and those with dementia or fall risk. Emphasis is on functional outcomes and community-based care within an acute hospital setting.

Requirements

• License: Valid California OT license (compact license acceptable)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year; first-timers welcome
• Certification: BLS required
• References: 2 references covering 1 year of experience (within last 3 years)

• Weekend shifts required; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• May float to nearby sister facilities as needed
• Local candidates within 50-mile radius welcome
