Acute Care Physical Therapist

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Physical Therapist for acute care. You'll work Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, on a flexible 13–26 week contract starting ASAP.

About the Role

You'll assess and treat a diverse patient population across multiple units, including the ER, ICU, and medical-surgical floors. Patient diagnoses include post-operative cases (hip and knee replacements, cardiac surgery), fractures, stroke rehabilitation, and general medical conditions. You'll develop and execute treatment plans focused on mobility, strength, pain management, and discharge planning.

Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting evaluations and reassessments
• Developing treatment plans and short-term goals
• Providing gait training, transfer techniques, and home exercise programs
• Patient and family education
• Range-of-motion and strength assessment
• Vital signs monitoring and skin integrity checks

Requirements

• Current California PT license (compact license acceptable)
• BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year acute care experience
• First-time travelers welcome
• Ability to float to nearby facilities as needed

Scheduling & Details

• Shift: Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (5 shifts per week)
• Guaranteed hours with one call-off per two-week pay period
• Free parking
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays
