Labor & Delivery RN

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week contract. You'll provide direct patient care in a busy L&D unit managing the full spectrum of obstetrical cases, from routine deliveries to high-risk antepartum and postpartum care.

Schedule & Staffing

• Shift: Day, 3x12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Weekends: 6 shifts required over the 6-week schedule
• Ratios: 1:1 care
• No on-call or float requirements
• 48-hour approved time off available; pre-approved time off: one week

Clinical Scope

You'll manage labor , antepartum and postpartum patient care, fetal monitoring (external and internal), neonatal resuscitation, and cesarean section support. Common responsibilities include:

• High-risk delivery and vaginal delivery assistance
• Postpartum hemorrhage and pre-eclampsia management
• External and internal fetal heart rate monitoring
• IV management and medication administration (Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, epidural support)
• Neonatal resuscitation and APGAR scoring
• Patient and pain management

The unit manages approximately 100–200 deliveries per month with 15 rooms and access to IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response support.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years L&D experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications
• Valid compact nursing license
• References required (covering 1 year within the last 3 years)
