Labor and Delivery RN – High-Risk Unit
The Opportunity
Join a high-risk labor and delivery unit in Dallas, TX. You'll provide specialized care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, and recovery—managing complex cases and supporting both mothers and newborns during critical moments.
About the Role
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour nights per week, including weekend rotation
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Float Policy: As needed to the antepartum unit
Responsibilities
- Manage high-risk obstetric patients during labor and delivery
- Circulate in cesarean sections and recover high-acuity patients
- Perform and assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&Cs, and post-delivery recovery
- Provide skilled fetal monitoring and patient assessment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of high-risk labor and delivery experience
- High-risk obstetrical bedside training
- Current RN license
- Intermediate AWONN fetal monitoring certification (required)
Unit Details
- Focus: High-acuity obstetric care, labor, delivery, and recovery
- Call requirements and weekend rotation expected
Dress Code
- Scrubs (color to be confirmed upon hire)
- Clean, healthy nails; no artificial enhancements
- Hair neat and pulled back if shoulder length or longer
- Tattoos covered when possible; visible piercings other than ears not permitted
- Beards and mustaches must be clean and neatly trimmed
