Travel RN – Medical/Surgical | Vermont
Position Overview
Join a critical access hospital in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom as a Medical/Surgical RN. You'll care for a diverse adult patient population in a collaborative, supportive environment where your clinical skills are valued and your contributions directly impact patient outcomes.
The Role
- Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care across the lifespan
- Work with medical, surgical, observation, swing bed, and outpatient patients; occasional pediatric admissions may occur
- Serve as Charge RN as needed
- Collaborate with providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate care
- Practice at the full scope of your nursing license
Schedule & Contract
- Flex day/night rotation: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
- Three 12-hour shifts per week (rotating schedule)
- 13-week contract
- Midweek start; orientation week may guarantee fewer hours
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years recent acute care RN experience
- Current Vermont RN license or Compact Multi-State RN License
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) certification
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Flu vaccination required
Important Details
- Personal transportation required; no public transportation available in this rural area
- Housing is your responsibility; local resources and recommendations will be provided
- This is primarily an adult medical/surgical unit; pediatric-only nurses will not be considered
- All credentials must be uploaded at least five business days before your start date
