Travel RN – Medical/Surgical | Vermont

Position Overview

Join a critical access hospital in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom as a Medical/Surgical RN. You'll care for a diverse adult patient population in a collaborative, supportive environment where your clinical skills are valued and your contributions directly impact patient outcomes.

The Role

  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care across the lifespan
  • Work with medical, surgical, observation, swing bed, and outpatient patients; occasional pediatric admissions may occur
  • Serve as Charge RN as needed
  • Collaborate with providers, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate care
  • Practice at the full scope of your nursing license

Schedule & Contract

  • Flex day/night rotation: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week (rotating schedule)
  • 13-week contract
  • Midweek start; orientation week may guarantee fewer hours

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years recent acute care RN experience
  • Current Vermont RN license or Compact Multi-State RN License
  • BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) certification
  • Charge RN experience preferred
  • Flu vaccination required

Important Details

  • Personal transportation required; no public transportation available in this rural area
  • Housing is your responsibility; local resources and recommendations will be provided
  • This is primarily an adult medical/surgical unit; pediatric-only nurses will not be considered
  • All credentials must be uploaded at least five business days before your start date
