Cardiac Cath Lab – Des Moines, IA
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab professional for a 13-week contract beginning October 12, 2026. This role supports a high-volume interventional cardiology program serving patients requiring diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization, structural heart procedures, and electrophysiology interventions.
Schedule & Logistics
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday (4×10s with one random weekday off)
- On-Call: 1–2 nights/week + every 3rd weekend (7:30 PM Friday – 7:00 AM Monday)
- Float Requirements: Must be willing to float across multiple campuses within the Des Moines area
- Holiday Commitment: Required to work 1–2 of the three summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of current Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Active Iowa or compact/multistate RN license
- BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Circulating monitoring experience
- Trauma Level II experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Structural heart experience
- Electrophysiology (EP) experience
- Scrubbing experience
- Trauma Level I experience
- Prior travel nursing experience
What We're Looking For
You'll work as both scrub and circulating nurse, assist with precept duties, and adapt to a dynamic team environment. This is a clinical role suited for nurses comfortable with complex interventional procedures and varied patient acuity.
Candidate Requirements for Application
- Valid driver's license
- Current work history with specific Cath Lab experience documented
- Professional reference from supervisor/manager within the past 24 months (preferred)
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
