Med/Surg Telemetry RN – Long-Term Acute Care | Columbia, SC

Shift: Days, 4x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with potential extension)

Start Date: September 21, 2026

About the Role

This position is within a long-term acute care (LTAC) setting serving adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit. The daily census runs approximately 15 patients, and the unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, radiology, and phlebotomy.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday primary schedule with rotating on-call coverage after 5 PM daily
• Weekend coverage supported by a rotating call pool of 6–8 staff members

Clinical Responsibilities

• Telemetry monitoring, interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Complex wound care
• Tracheostomy care and management
• Neurological assessment and care (neuro experience required)

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Neuro experience required
• LTAC experience preferred
• Electronic health record proficiency: minimum 1 year of recent experience required

Additional Details

• Float to qualified units may be required based on census needs
• Orientation occurs on Mondays
• Pre-assignment modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 billable hours)
• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions | COVID-19 vaccine not required
