LTACH ICU – Registered Nurse | Night Shift | Columbia, SC

This travel RN position is based in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTACH) setting, supporting both an ICU and a Med-Surg unit. Staff are expected to work across both areas based on census needs. The patient population consists of adults and geriatrics with complex, high-acuity conditions.

Shift & Schedule

4x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
36–48 hours per week
Monday–Friday primary schedule; weekends covered by a rotating on-call team
After-hours call (after 5 PM daily and weekends) shared among 6–8 staff members

Contract Details

13-week contract (with 26-week option)
Start date: September 28, 2026
Float requirement: Med-Surg (1:5 ratio); floating to qualified units may be required based on census

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

Adults and geriatrics (18+)
Diagnoses include stroke/CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, vent weaning, tracheostomy/PEG care, wound care, ARDS, pulmonary embolism, and neuromuscular disease
Procedures include arterial line management, central line care, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, tracheostomy care, ventilator management and weaning, titration of insulin drips, and stroke scale assessments

Required Certifications

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
Neurology experience required
LTACH experience preferred
1 year of electronic health record experience required

Vaccines

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
COVID-19 vaccine not required
