LTACH ICU — Registered Nurse | Night Shift | Columbia, SC
This travel RN position is based in a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) ICU unit, caring for a complex adult and geriatric population. Staff are cross-trained to work across both the ICU and med-surg units as census requires.
Schedule & Contract
- Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- 36 or 48 hours per week available
- 13-week contract (26-week option also available)
- Start date: September 28, 2026
- Weekend coverage supported through a rotating on-call system shared among 6–8 staff members; after-hours call applies daily after 5 PM
Clinical Scope
The unit manages high-acuity, long-term acute care patients including those requiring vent weaning, tracheostomy and PEG care, spinal cord injury management, wound care, and complex neurological cases. Core competencies include arterial line management, IV vasopressors, continuous sedation drips, ventilator management (multiple modes), dysrhythmia interpretation and management, stroke scale assessment, and PICC/central line care.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; neurological nursing experience required
- LTACH experience preferred
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Charge experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent electronic health record experience required
- Float requirement: med-surg (1:5 ratio)

- Pre-assignment modules and testing must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 hours reimbursable)
