Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift | Greensboro, NC
This 13-week contract places you in a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit caring for laboring patients across the full spectrum of obstetric complexity. The position is open to first-time travelers with at least one year of L&D experience.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3×12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required (approximately 6 Sat/Sun weekends per contract)
- Holidays scheduled as needed
- One pre-approved time-off request accepted (must be submitted with application)
Float Requirements
Travelers may be floated to maternal antepartum, maternal-baby, and OB step-down areas as needed.
Required Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate (Advanced preferred)
Clinical Scope
You'll manage high-acuity laboring patients including pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, malpresentations, and multiple gestation. Competencies include:
- Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensive management
- Epidural assistance, internal/external fetal monitoring, IUPC placement
- Assisting with high-risk and operative deliveries; C-section recovery and circulation
- Neonatal resuscitation and APGAR assessment
Compliance Requirements
- Active RN license required at time of submission
- EKG competency exam required (2 attempts allowed)
- Background check must show no open cases
- No candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Third-party education verification required
