Emergency Department Registered Nurse
About the Role
The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join a fast-paced, high-acuity team. You'll provide direct patient care across a wide spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions, from initial through treatment, admission, or discharge.
Key Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients; prioritize care based on acuity
- Perform rapid, comprehensive nursing assessments and implement evidence-based interventions
- Administer medications, treatments, and protocols per physician orders
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and acute deterioration with appropriate emergency interventions
- Monitor and manage patients throughout their ED stay
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
- Support efficient patient flow in a high-volume environment
- Uphold infection control, safety, and de-escalation standards
Requirements
- Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license)
- Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- NIHSS certification required
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend as needed
- 14-week contract
- Start: September 27, 2026
