About the Role
The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. You'll incoming patients, manage rapid assessments, and deliver evidence-based nursing care across a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions. This role emphasizes clinical autonomy, critical thinking, and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid and comprehensive assessments to prioritize patient acuity
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per protocols and physician orders
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid patient deterioration
- Monitor patients throughout their ED stay, including those awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care team members on individualized treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record
- Support patient flow and throughput while ensuring infection control and safety protocols
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS required
- Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Experience with protocols and emergency response
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Weekend and holiday rotation required
- 13-week contract
- Start date: September 28, 2026
