Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technician
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technician for a 14-week contract in the interventional cardiology suite. This is a day shift role (07:00–17:30) working 4×10-hour days.
Clinical Scope
You'll support diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), orbital atherectomy, IABP and Impella placements, and device implants. The unit manages adult and geriatric patients with complex coronary and structural cardiac disease. No EP studies or ablations.
Daily census averages 8–10 patients across 3 procedure rooms.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years cath lab experience (prior travel experience required)
- Current RN license (Georgia or Compact)
- BLS, ACLS, and RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certification
- Proficiency with EKG interpretation, sinus node rhythms, vital sign monitoring, and rhythm assessment
- Hands-on experience with IABP and Impella devices
- Ability to maintain sterile field and serve as scrub or circulator
- Pacemaker experience preferred
Schedule & Expectations
- Every other weekend
- 10 call days per month
- Float within department and facility
- Maximum 7 days RTO per contract
- All RTO must be finalized at time of submission
- Holiday work required (specific expectations based on assignment overlap)
