Cardiac Telemetry – Night Shift
Position Overview
Join the facility's cardiac telemetry unit for a 13-week contract. You'll provide skilled nursing care to adult and geriatric patients recovering from cardiac and vascular procedures, managing complex arrhythmias, hemodynamics, and post-operative care.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period (flexible scheduling)
- Floating within unit rotation per acuity needs — not first to float
- 24-hour orientation included
Required Experience & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac floor nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Travel nursing experience preferred (unless you have 24+ months cardiac experience)
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Clinical Skills & Scope
You'll manage patients with atrial fibrillation, heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, valvular disease, and post-surgical conditions. Core competencies include:
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Pre/post-cardiac catheterization and post-MI care
- Cardiac drip management (with and without titration)
- Sheath removal and femoral access site management
- Chest tube management, arterial lines, external CPAP/BiPAP
- Post-procedure care following CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, pacemaker placement, and electrophysiology procedures
Preferred Skills
Arterial line management, wound care, and prior charge nurse experience.
Patient Ratios
1:3–5 depending on acuity level.
Attire
Navy scrubs.
Important
RTO after booking is not permitted. Call-offs may result in contract cancellation. Contract staff may be assigned to emergency response or disaster teams during catastrophic events.
