Medical-Surgical Telemetry Float Nurse

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Float Nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work day shift, 3x12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), and float within the medical-surgical telemetry unit to support patient care across multiple areas.

Shift & Schedule

Day shift: 3x12-hour per week
Every other weekend required
No on-call
No block scheduling

Patient Population & Scope

You'll care for adult and geriatric patients with medical-surgical diagnoses, including:

Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Cardiac and vasoactive drip management (monitoring; no titration)
Post-MI, pre/post cardiac catheterization and surgery care
Neurological patients: aneurysm repair, craniotomy, CVA, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury
Orthopedic trauma
Central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines
Tracheostomy care
BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow oxygen delivery
Pacemaker management (temporary and permanent)

Staffing & Ratios

Team nursing model
Patient ratios: 1:4–1:8

Requirements

Minimum 1 year nursing experience (first-timers welcomed)
Current RN license in hand required
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Experience with cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia management
Ability to float and adapt to facility needs
Not accepted if living within 50 miles of the facility

COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only).
