Perinatal RN – Labor & Delivery

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Perinatal RN for a night shift assignment in labor & delivery. This is a high-volume perinatal unit managing antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call
• 18-week contract
• Start date: ASAP

Clinical Scope

You will care for laboring patients, high-risk pregnancies, and antepartum cases across four antepartum rooms and nine labor/high-risk rooms. Responsibilities include:

• Fetal heart rate monitoring and high-risk pregnancy management
• Vaginal delivery assistance
• C-section circulation and scrubbing
• Postpartum couplet care (maternal and newborn)
• Newborn resuscitation and delivery support
• Float to postpartum as needed

The facility manages approximately 200–300 deliveries per month and provides full interdisciplinary support.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years perinatal/L&D experience required
• Compact state license in hand at submission
• Current certifications: AWHONN Advanced (or NCC EFM), ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM
• Travel experience required
• Valid references (2, covering 1 year within last 3 years)

Specifics

• Scrubs: Navy blue for RNs (L&D scrubs provided)
• No on-call required
• Guaranteed hours; facility may call off once per two-week pay period
• Must commit to working three of five holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
