Registered Nurse

Medical-Surgical RN | Neuro/Stroke Unit | Nights | Lexington, KY

This 13-week contract (with a potential 91-week engagement) places you on an acute medical-surgical unit specializing in neurological and stroke patients. Shifts run 12 hours overnight, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with 36 guaranteed hours per week. Start date: September 28, 2026.

Unit Overview

The unit manages acute stroke, neurological, and general medical patients. Charge nurses are present each shift and carry their own patient assignment. Nursing assistants and patient care techs provide support, with ratios that may vary by shift.

Clinical Scope

• No drip titration required
• Respiratory support includes BiPAP and high-flow oxygen; respiratory therapy manages equipment, with RNs available to troubleshoot
• Centralized telemetry monitoring in place; RNs are expected to review strips each shift

Schedule & Requirements

• 12-hour nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Self-scheduling, subject to adjustment for balance
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• 2 summer and 3 winter holiday shifts required
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Float potential to other medical-surgical floors

Certifications & Credentials

• BLS required
• BSN not required
• Active RN license required at time of submission
