Respiratory Therapist – Float Pool | Nights | Bethlehem, PA

This 13-week contract places an experienced Respiratory Therapist in a float pool role covering Adult Critical Care and the Emergency Department. Night shifts run 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week.

Shift & Scheduling

  • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call required
  • All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application; no exceptions after submission

Licensure & Certifications Required

  • Pennsylvania Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
  • RRT, ACLS, BLS

Clinical Scope

You will float between Adult Critical Care and the Emergency Department, managing a broad range of high-acuity respiratory needs, including:

  • Mechanical ventilation management and weaning
  • HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, and trach collar therapy
  • Intubation assist and extubation
  • Tracheostomy care and management
  • Nitric oxide administration
  • Drawing and interpreting ABGs
  • Chest physiotherapy (vest)
  • Full nebulizer therapy (albuterol, Atrovent, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, and others)
  • Nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning

  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • Orientation: approximately 40 hours

Minimum 2 years of Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience required.
