Respiratory Therapist – Float Pool | Nights | Bethlehem, PA
This 13-week contract places an experienced Respiratory Therapist in a float pool role covering Adult Critical Care and the Emergency Department. Night shifts run 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week.
Shift & Scheduling
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application; no exceptions after submission
Licensure & Certifications Required
- Pennsylvania Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
- RRT, ACLS, BLS
Clinical Scope
You will float between Adult Critical Care and the Emergency Department, managing a broad range of high-acuity respiratory needs, including:
- Mechanical ventilation management and weaning
- HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, and trach collar therapy
- Intubation assist and extubation
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Nitric oxide administration
- Drawing and interpreting ABGs
- Chest physiotherapy (vest)
- Full nebulizer therapy (albuterol, Atrovent, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, and others)
- Nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning

- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Orientation: approximately 40 hours
Minimum 2 years of Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience required.
