Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Lexington, KY | 13-Week Contract
This telemetry unit serves a primarily cardiac patient population, including post-cardiac surgery patients, thoracotomies with chest tubes, atrial fibrillation, and complex medical patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Self-scheduling, subject to adjustment for unit balance
- 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- Holiday requirement: 2 summer, 3 winter
- No on-call or standby requirement
Clinical Responsibilities
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips (all drips except pressors, paralytics, and TPA)
- Place and remove patients on/off CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen; RT sets rates and is available in-house
- Read telemetry strips once per shift and with any rhythm changes; centralized monitoring support is available
- Charge nurse present each shift and typically carries a patient assignment
- Patient care techs provide additional support on the unit
Float Requirements
- May be floated to other floors as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (required prior to submission)
- BLS certification required
- BSN not required
Orientation
- 1–2 shifts of unit-specific orientation
Dress Code
- Galaxy Blue scrubs
Cancellation Policy
- Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment
