About the Role
The facility's cardiovascular operating room is seeking an experienced CVOR surgical technologist to join the team. You'll scrub high-acuity cardiac and thoracic cases in a dynamic surgical environment.
Clinical Scope
You'll work with a wide variety of procedures including:
- CABG and valve replacements
- Aortic dissection repairs
- TAVR cases
- Thoracic surgery (including da Vinci–assisted lobectomy, wedge resections, and mediastinal lymph node biopsies)
- Open thoracotomy and VATS procedures
- ECMO initiation and pericardial window procedures
Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- Advanced proficiency in cardiac bypass cases and mediastinal procedures
- Ability to handle complex thoracic and cardiac pathology
- On-call availability required: Unit operates 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM; call assignments begin at 3:00 PM. Weekend call (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) when assigned.
What to Expect
Hospital-provided scrubs. You'll be part of a surgical team managing critically ill patients requiring complex cardiothoracic interventions.
This is a contract position. Qualified candidates should be prepared to discuss their experience with bypass surgery, ECMO cases, and minimally invasive thoracic procedures.
