Cardiovascular ICU – Travel RN | Overland Park, KS

Nights | 13-Week Contract

This Cardiovascular ICU opportunity is ideal for experienced critical care nurses looking to work in a high-acuity, specialized environment. The unit holds a Unit of Distinction designation, reflecting a strong commitment to clinical quality and patient experience.

Shift & Schedule

• 19:00–07:00 (4 x 12 nights)
• 3 shifts per week; 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• 48 hours guaranteed per week

Clinical Scope

The CVICU manages complex cardiovascular patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and intervention. Procedures and skills utilized on this unit include:

• Open heart recovery
• ECMO cannulation
• Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) and Impella management
• Vasopressors and positive inotropes
• Temporary and permanent pacemaker management
• Chest tubes and pericardial drains
• Cath/EP Lab recovery
• Frequent site and vital sign assessments

Float Requirements

Travelers may float to Medical ICU and floor units as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• ACLS and BLS required
• Minimum ICU experience required; CVICU experience strongly preferred
• Charge nurse experience a plus for night shift candidates

Additional Details

• Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs
• Full care support available, including unit secretaries and patient care technicians
• Contract length: 13 weeks (approximately 91 weeks of available assignment noted for planning purposes)
