Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – RN

Position Overview

The facility is seeking experienced registered nurses for its Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This is a fast-paced recovery setting where you'll provide critical care to patients emerging from anesthesia and surgery.

Unit Details

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (9 or 12-hour options available)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks

• Staffing Support: 1 PCT available; primarily RN-staffed unit
• Call Requirements: 1–2 times per week; 1 weekend call per month; 2 call holidays per year
• Floating Policy: Closed unit (no floating to other departments)
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Clinical Scope

You'll manage post-operative patients during early recovery, monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and observing for complications. The unit performs electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), bedside procedures, and blood patches.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN licensure
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• 1–2 years ICU or ER experience preferred
• 1+ year of med-surg floor experience
• Preferred: ventilator experience and familiarity with critical infusions
