Inpatient Rehab Nurse – Salem, VA

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its inpatient rehabilitation unit. This 13-week contract offers the opportunity to work nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required.

Unit Details

You'll care for patients recovering from acute illness or injury who are working toward functional independence. The unit supports a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physician specialists. Patient ratios are 5–7 patients per nurse, with 2–4 techs available based on census.

Clinical Scope

Your responsibilities include:

• Medication administration (IV, PICC, PEG tube)
• Bladder scans and catheter care
• Trach care and tube feeding
• Foley catheter insertion and bladder irrigation
• Blood administration

Requirements

• Current RN license (Virginia)
• BLS certification
• Rehab nursing experience required
• Med/Surg experience preferred

Additional Information

• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• May float to other med/surg departments as needed
• Navy blue or white solid scrubs
• Start date: September 14, 2026
