Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Salem, VA

A fast-paced Emergency Department in Salem, VA is seeking an experienced travel RN for a night shift contract. This is a high-volume ED that manages a broad acuity range, including critically ill and complex patients.

Shift & Schedule

• 19:00–07:00 (12-hour nights)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling period (Friday or Saturday nights); no on-call required

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: August 24, 2026

Clinical Scope

The ED team manages diverse presentations including sepsis, acute stroke with tPA administration, RSI, central line placement, psychiatric patients, and inter-facility transfers (EMTALA). The environment is team-oriented and fast-paced, making strong situational awareness and adaptability essential.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Department RN experience
• 2–3 prior completed travel assignments required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume emergency settings strongly preferred

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

Preferred Certifications

• ENPC, NRP, NIHSS
