Emergency Department Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Location: Salem, VA

Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

About the Role

Join a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department. You'll care for acutely ill and injured patients across a wide range of presentations, working in a collegial team environment with experienced nurses and paramedics.

Clinical Scope

You'll manage patients requiring:

• Rapid sequence intubation (RSI)
• Sepsis interventions
• Stroke protocols with tPA administration
• Central line placement
• Psychiatric patient care
• Facility transfers (EMTALA)

Requirements

• Current Licenses & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years emergency nursing
• Travel History: 2–3 completed travel assignments required
• Preferred: ENPC, NRP, or NIH Stroke Scale certification

Schedule & Expectations

• No on-call requirement
• Four weekend shifts per four-week cycle (Friday or Saturday for nights; Saturday or Sunday for days)
• No floating to other units
• Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs
