Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse — Night Shift | Chattanooga, TN
This 13-week contract places you on a busy medical-surgical unit working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with 36 guaranteed hours per week. The unit operates in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with visible leadership and a strong culture of recognition and learning.
Unit Overview
The unit manages a general medical-surgical patient population with a focus on cardiac monitoring, wound management, and IV therapy. Techs are present each shift, alongside a charge nurse structure that supports safe, organized patient care.
Required Skills & Certifications
- BLS required
- IV starts and NGT placement
- Wound care (including wound vac management)
- Cardiac rhythm recognition and interpretation
- Experience with telemetry, heparin drips, feeding pumps, glucometers, and bladder scanner
Schedule & Logistics
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
- Float requirement between two medical-surgical units within the facility
- Dress code: Navy scrubs (no fleece or sweatshirts)
