Cath Lab Technologist – Birmingham, AL

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist for a 13-week contract. This is a day shift role (4 × 10 hours) starting September 21, 2026.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology program
• Current RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or ARRT (R) certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications current
• State licensure as applicable (RT)
• Minimum 2 years recent cath lab experience
• Travel experience required
• Availability for on-call/emergent cases

Responsibilities

You'll assist physicians during a full range of cardiac catheterization procedures, including diagnostic angiograms, PCI/stent placements, and pacemaker/device implants. Your daily tasks include:

• Operate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
• Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status; alert the team to clinical changes
• Administer contrast media and medications per protocol
• Perform scrub, circulate, and monitoring roles as procedures require
• Ensure radiation safety practices for patients and staff
• Document procedures, supplies, and patient data accurately
• Assist with post-procedure care, including sheath removal and site management

This is a fast-paced, procedure-driven environment where attention to detail and strong clinical assessment skills are essential.
