Physical Therapist Assistant — Rehabilitation Unit
Shift & Schedule
Four 10-hour days per week, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Every third weekend required (may shift to every other weekend). No floating. Eight hours of unit-specific orientation provided.
Clinical Setting
You'll support the rehabilitation team in an acute care setting, working with patients across cardiac, stroke, orthopedic, neurological, and medical-surgical populations. The facility is stroke-certified. A low-volume pediatric unit exists on-site; travelers are not required to work pediatrics or NICU.
Staffing & Support
PT coverage runs seven days a week. A manager is available weekdays; a team leader supports the unit during other hours. Physical therapy aides are typically available (one on weekends and early week, two Wednesday through Saturday).
Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- Valid California license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in physical therapy
- At least 1 year of acute care hospital experience
- COVID vaccination required
- First-time travelers welcome
Dress Code
Burgundy polo or button-down shirt (provided by the hospital), dark solid pants. No scrubs.
Contract Details
13-week assignment. 40 guaranteed hours per week. Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during the contract.
Support Services
Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and hospitalist support available 24/7.
