Cardiac Moderate Care / Stepdown — Travel RN

Atlanta, GA | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3×12s, 36 hrs/week | 13 Weeks

This moderate care/observation unit supports the heart and vascular service line, managing a mix of low-acuity critical care patients awaiting placement in cardiac or vascular ICU or stepdown units. The unit also serves as an extended observation area for patients who underwent same-day cardiovascular procedures and require continued monitoring prior to discharge.

Clinical Scope

• Patients include presurgical cardiac and vascular cases, LVAD patients, and post-procedure observation
• Manages 2–4 vasoactive drips, arterial lines, and PA catheters
• No CRRT, no IABP, no Impella
• High patient turnover with a wide variety of cardiovascular diagnoses
• Fast-paced environment requiring strong organization and critical thinking

Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of specialty experience within the past 3 years
• PA catheter experience required
• CCRN preferred
• Active Georgia or compact RN license required at time of submission
• No local travelers (must reside more than 50 miles from the facility)
• Rhythm identification test (proctored, short-answer format) administered upon start; two attempts allowed
