Physical Therapist Assistant
Position Overview
The facility seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant for a 13-week assignment in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings. You'll work 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, with a requirement to work either every Saturday or Sunday. Holidays are worked in rotation with permanent staff.
Clinical Scope
You'll support patients across multiple settings:
- Inpatient rehabilitation: Spinal cord injuries, stroke, brain injuries, and orthopedic cases
- General inpatient: Orthopedic, medical, surgical, bariatric, ICU, and cardiac patients
- Sub-acute care: Ventilated and long-term patients
- Outpatient clinics: Orthopedics, sports medicine, neurology, and pediatrics; includes a specialized lymphedema program
Patient populations span all age groups and diagnoses.
Requirements
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
- Valid state license
- 3-shift floor-specific orientation upon start
What to Expect
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Professional uniform provided (polo shirt; khakis or black pants)
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts within the 13-week assignment
- On-site pharmacy available 24/7
