Med/Surg – Oncology | Registered Nurse | Night Shift

Morgantown, WV | 13-Week Contract | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

This inpatient oncology unit provides specialized cancer care with med/surg overflow capacity. The unit serves adult and geriatric patients across a broad range of oncologic diagnoses, including breast, lung, colorectal, brain, bladder, kidney, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, and liver cancers. Nurses here manage complex presentations including neutropenic precautions, tumor lysis syndrome, sepsis, spinal cord compression, and chemotherapy-related side effects.

Clinical Scope Includes:

• IV chemotherapy administration (IV push, continuous infusion, oral)
• Central line and PICC line care; port access and management
• Blood and blood product administration
• PCA pump and infusion pump management
• Wound care, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
• Hospice and end-of-life support
• Patient and family education

Schedule:

• 4x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekdays with every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling available

Contract Details:

• Start date: September 2026
• 13-week contract; extension possible
• 12-hour orientation prior to start

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• WV or Compact RN license (pending accepted)
• Required certifications (AHA): BLS, ACLS
• ONS Chemo/Bio certification preferred
• IV start proficiency required
• Prior charge experience preferred
• Oncology experience preferred, not required

Additional Notes:

• Scrubs: Burgundy and/or white (not provided)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Attendance expectations are firm — no more than 2–3 call-offs per contract
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility
