Med Surg Tele

MedSurg/Telemetry RN — Travel Contract | Rochester, NY

This 13-week night shift contract places you on a high-volume MedSurg/Telemetry unit caring for a diverse and acuity-driven patient population. The position requires a valid New York RN license in hand prior to submission — no exceptions.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Start date: September 22, 2026

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

You'll float between two distinct units:

• A cardiac-focused unit managing patients with CHF, acute MI, arrhythmias, and post-device care (including pacemaker patients)
• A general surgery unit caring for patients following colorectal procedures, ostomy creation, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and breast procedures

Floating: Required between units — comfort with both cardiac and surgical populations is essential.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of MedSurg/Tele experience
• Active NY RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required (valid NIHSS must be included with submission)
• ACLS also required
• Electronic charting experience is mandatory
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers accepted

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Blood product administration
• Wound care / wound vac
• Peripheral line care
• Non-invasive airway management
• Rapid response/code team participation
