GI Lab RN – PACU & Preoperative

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its gastroenterology lab, supporting both preoperative and Phase II PACU roles. This is a 13-week day shift contract (7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday).

Clinical Scope

You'll care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing endoscopic procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, bronchoscopy, and endoscopic ultrasound. Responsibilities include:

• Administering and monitoring conscious sedation (propofol, versed)
• Managing airways and assisting with airway management
• Circulating and scrubbing procedures
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Recovering patients post-sedation and post-procedure
• Obtaining 12-lead EKGs and interpreting dysrhythmias
• Specimen handling and labeling

Requirements

• Current RN license (compact license accepted)
• Minimum 3 years charge experience
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• CGRN (Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse) preferred
• At least 1 year of relevant experience required

Schedule & Staffing

• Day shift: 5 days per week, no weekends
• Float requirements to preop and Phase II PACU; may also float to nearby sister facilities (with 24 hours' notice)
• One week of pre-approved time off during contract
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Interdisciplinary Support

You'll work alongside IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
