This medical-surgical telemetry unit specializes in bariatric and orthopedic patient care, providing 24-hour inpatient services to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The unit is fast-paced with a collaborative, team-oriented environment supported by physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and more.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 18:45–07:15 (3×12-hour shifts)
- 36 or 48 hours per week available
- Weekend requirement: 2–3 shifts per 6-week period
- Float requirement: Yes
Contract Details
- Duration: 20+ weeks (through February 27, 2027)
- Start date: September 28, 2026
- Orientation: 36 hours; full availability required during week one
Required Certifications & Skills
- BLS, NIHSS, IV Start, Telemetry
- Skills: telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central line care, peripheral line management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE
- Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
- Hand hygiene compliance of 75% must be maintained
Preferred
- ACLS
Additional Details
- Scrubs: Navy, white, or a combination (not provided)
- RTO must be pre-approved; no RTO requests permitted after signing
- Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays
- North Carolina or compact license (including pending) accepted for submission
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Local candidates (within 50 miles) are accepted at an adjusted rate
