Medical-Surgical Telemetry | Night Shift | Matthews, NC

This medical-surgical telemetry unit specializes in bariatric and orthopedic patient care, providing 24-hour inpatient services to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The unit is fast-paced with a collaborative, team-oriented environment supported by physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and more.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 18:45–07:15 (3×12-hour shifts)
  • 36 or 48 hours per week available
  • Weekend requirement: 2–3 shifts per 6-week period
  • Float requirement: Yes

Contract Details

  • Duration: 20+ weeks (through February 27, 2027)
  • Start date: September 28, 2026
  • Orientation: 36 hours; full availability required during week one

Required Certifications & Skills

  • BLS, NIHSS, IV Start, Telemetry
  • Skills: telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central line care, peripheral line management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
  • Hand hygiene compliance of 75% must be maintained

Preferred

  • ACLS

Additional Details

  • Scrubs: Navy, white, or a combination (not provided)
  • RTO must be pre-approved; no RTO requests permitted after signing
  • Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • North Carolina or compact license (including pending) accepted for submission
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required
  • Local candidates (within 50 miles) are accepted at an adjusted rate
