Stepdown/PCU Registered Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit. This is a night shift role caring for patients transitioning from acute to lower-acuity settings.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• 13-week contract
• Start date: September 25, 2026

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in Stepdown/PCU settings
• Active Ohio license or active compact state license (must be in hand at time of application)
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification preferred
• One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director required (references from past 12 months preferred; co-worker references will not be accepted)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in a stepdown environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and transitions
• Maintain accurate documentation and clinical records
• Participate in facility orientation, including ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments

Important Notes

• Background check and drug screening required
• BCI/FBI fingerprints must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Annual competency modules required for extended contracts
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• Contract extensions available up to 18 months; 6-month break required thereafter
