Labor and Delivery Nurse
Position Overview
The facility's Family Birthplace unit seeks experienced Labor and Delivery nurses for night shifts. You'll provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, and postpartum services in a setting that emphasizes personalized, family-centered birthing experiences.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour nights
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend and holidays as needed
- On-call responsibilities
- 13-week contract
Clinical Scope
You'll manage laboring patients, assist with vaginal and Cesarean deliveries, monitor mother-baby dyads postpartum, and collaborate with obstetricians and midwives. The unit offers private birthing rooms with specialized equipment and 24/7 anesthesia and delivery services.
Requirements
- 2+ years current L&D experience
- Postpartum/Mother Baby experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification
- Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Active STABLE certification
- Own reliable vehicle for commuting
- Perm address on file
- Supervisory reference from past 2 years of employment
Important Notes
- All scheduling requests and time-off requests (maximum 5 days) must be submitted at the time of application—no exceptions
- You must be available to work certain holiday blocks if scheduled
- 8 hours of non-billable orientation included
- Candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not considered
