Labor & Delivery Nurse
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse to join a high-volume obstetric unit. You'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies. This role requires strong clinical judgment, specialized knowledge, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Shift & Duration
- Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 36 hours guaranteed weekly
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 15, 2026
- On-call & Weekend: Schedule to be determined by the facility
Requirements
- 2+ years of recent, high-volume Labor & Delivery experience
- Current RN license (Maryland)
- Active ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)
- Active EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification
- Active NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- COVID-19 vaccination (required; state record)
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Willingness to work the facility's full schedule with no restrictions
- Ability to obtain EFM and NIHSS certifications within 48 hours if needed
Required Documentation
- Current RN license verification (less than 30 days old)
- Resume with all gaps over 30 days explained
- Two supervisory references (one from last 6 months, one from last 12 months)
