Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) — Registered Nurse

Austin, TX | Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This CVICU position focuses on high-acuity cardiac and advanced heart failure patients in a fast-paced, specialized critical care environment. The unit's patient population is approximately 80% post-cardiac surgery and 20% advanced heart failure, with a clinical scope that includes open heart recovery, heart transplants, LVAD implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, and continuous cardiac output monitoring.

Shift & Schedule

Days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
Float requirement: MICU/SICU, Medical, or Cardiac Stepdown units as needed

Scrub Color: Navy

Clinical Requirements

Active RN license (verification required at submission)
Strong CVICU background required
Preferred: Cardiac Advanced Device Therapy experience, including IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz management
EKG competency required during onboarding

Onboarding Includes

Specialty and core competency exams
EKG exam
Skills checklist
Standard health and immunization documentation (MMR, Varicella, Tdap, TB screening, Hepatitis B, fit testing)
Background check and drug screen
