NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Level III
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to provide direct care to critically ill and medically complex neonates in a high-acuity Level III NICU setting. This is a 13-week contract position.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
- Care for infants requiring therapeutic hypothermia and cooling
- Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory support (ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, high-flow oxygen)
- Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), and other invasive devices
- Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
- Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and closely monitor patient condition changes
- Recognize and respond quickly to neonatal deterioration and emergency situations
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary team
- Provide education and emotional support to families
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–4 years of recent Level III NICU experience
- Strong experience with high-acuity and critically ill neonates
- Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required
- Ability to function independently and manage complex patients with minimal supervision
- Active RN license
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
