Registered Nurse

Operating Room RN — Perioperative | Des Moines, IA

13-Week Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 3x12s (6:30 AM–7:00 PM)

This perioperative role supports a high-volume, multi-service OR running 12–14 active suites daily with an average of 35–50 cases per day. Turnaround expectations are under 20 minutes. The position requires both circulating and scrub capability and involves floating across multiple campuses.

Service Lines:

• General, robotic (Da Vinci), pediatrics, and trauma (required experience)
• Neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, vascular, plastics, and ENT (preferred experience)

Schedule & Call:

• Monday–Friday, 36 hrs/week
• On-call: up to 1 overnight per week; weekend call coverage from end of Friday shift through Monday at 6:30 AM
• Up to 3 call weekends per 13-week contract
• Holiday rotation required (summer holidays included)

Scrubs: Provided by the facility

Requirements:

• Minimum 24 months of current OR experience (hospital/medical center setting prioritized)
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience highly preferred
• Robotic, pediatric, trauma, and general surgery case experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Level I highly preferred
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment within the past 15 months
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required

Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility. Candidates with FTE or PRN employment at the hiring health system within the past 12 months are not eligible.
