Pulmonary / Med-Surg Telemetry | Nights | Tuscaloosa, AL
This 13-week travel contract supports a dedicated pulmonary telemetry unit focused on diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of respiratory disorders and lung diseases. The unit operates with a strong interdisciplinary model, collaborating closely with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy to deliver specialized, high-quality care.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays required as needed
- Estimated start: September 14, 2026
Float Requirements
Candidates must be willing to float to other units and hospital locations within the system.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing (minimum)
- Active Registered Nurse license — State of Alabama or Compact (no temporary licenses accepted)
- AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
- Minimum 18 months of experience working under highest professional licensure, with at least 1 year of recent med-surg telemetry or pulmonary specialty experience (2 years preferred)
Clinical Scope
Nurses on this unit manage patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions requiring telemetry monitoring. Strong foundational knowledge in general medicine combined with expertise in respiratory assessment and care is essential.
