NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Level III
Position Overview
The facility's Level III NICU seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct care to critically ill and medically complex neonates. You'll work nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) on a 13-week contract, managing high-acuity patients with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3–4 years of recent Level III NICU experience required
- Hands-on experience with therapeutic cooling (therapeutic hypothermia) is essential
- Comfortable independently managing extremely high-acuity neonates
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to recognize and respond quickly to patient deterioration
- Travel healthcare experience preferred
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex infants
- Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory support (ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, high-flow oxygen)
- Care for infants undergoing therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
- Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
- Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
- Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and monitor patient condition closely
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and emergency stabilization
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team
- Support families with education and emotional care throughout hospitalization
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Active RN license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
