NICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Level III

Position Overview

The facility's Level III NICU seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct care to critically ill and medically complex neonates. You'll work nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) on a 13-week contract, managing high-acuity patients with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–4 years of recent Level III NICU experience required
  • Hands-on experience with therapeutic cooling (therapeutic hypothermia) is essential
  • Comfortable independently managing extremely high-acuity neonates
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to recognize and respond quickly to patient deterioration
  • Travel healthcare experience preferred

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex infants
  • Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory support (ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, high-flow oxygen)
  • Care for infants undergoing therapeutic hypothermia/cooling
  • Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
  • Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products
  • Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and monitor patient condition closely
  • Participate in neonatal resuscitation and emergency stabilization
  • Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Support families with education and emotional care throughout hospitalization
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Active RN license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
