Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Travel RN

Eureka, CA | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This travel RN opportunity is in a Progressive Care Unit serving adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and complex medical needs. The unit provides a high level of interdisciplinary support, including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, social services, and more.

Shift Details

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Start Date: September 21, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Orientation: 24 hours

Clinical Scope

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and angiogram care
• Pre/post cardiac surgery care
• BiPAP/CPAP and non-invasive airway management
• Heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Blood product administration, procedural sedation monitoring
• Central line, PICC line, and feeding tube management
• Isolation precautions and NIHSS assessments

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of PCU, stepdown, or ICU experience required
• Must have worked in this specialty within the last 6 months (hard stop)
• Compact RN license must be in hand at time of submission
• 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years

Additional Details

• Floating between nearby sister facilities may be required; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Holiday commitment required: must work 3 of 5 (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to qualify at standard terms
