Med/Surg Telemetry (Multi-Specialty Unit) | Northport, AL
Day Shift | 13-Week Contract
This multi-specialty Progressive Care unit provides 24/7 acute medical and surgical care to a diverse patient population. Nurses should be comfortable managing both medical and surgical patients, including those requiring telemetry monitoring and dialysis support.
Surgical patients include those recovering from orthopedic procedures (fractures, shoulder, and back surgeries) as well as general surgery cases such as appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, and colon resection. Medical patients present with a range of acute needs including telemetry monitoring and dialysis.
Clinical focus areas include pain management, mobility assistance, and prevention of complications, all within a patient-centered care model.
Schedule & Contract Details
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- Every other weekend required; holidays as required
- Float requirement: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
- Scrubs: Solid navy
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing (minimum)
- Active RN license in Alabama or valid Compact license (no temporary licenses accepted)
- AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
- Minimum 18 months of experience working at the highest professional license level; 2 years preferred
- At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg or Telemetry
